Autumn Movie Watch List
Share
Yes, September began a whopping three days ago, but autumn is the prime cozy season to curl up with a warm blanket, a nostalgic movie, and maybe even a cinnamon-scented candle. I’m not the biggest horror fan, but there’s something about fall that brings out the comfort movies from my childhood (and yes, some newer classics too).
This list is in no particular order—ranking them would be like choosing a favorite child. Impossible.

Princess Diaries 1 & 2
I quote this movie almost daily, and if I ever meet Mia, you better believe I’m announcing you as “Amelia Mignonette Thermopolis Renaldi, Princess of Genovia.” The second movie is an underrated gem with royal glow-ups, romance, and Chris Pine (need I say more?). -
Bring It On
A cheer-tastic cult classic. If you were born in the late '90s/early 2000s, this movie was everywhere. The sass, the routines, the iconic “Brr, it’s cold in here” chant—timeless. -
To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (Trilogy)
If Jenny Han writes it, I'll watch it. Lara Jean is the relatable, dreamy romantic we all secretly are. This trilogy gives all the cozy, high-school-crush feels. Jenny Han is truly the John Hughes of our generation. -
Harry Potter Series
Nothing screams autumn quite like returning to Hogwarts. The candles floating in the Great Hall? The sweaters? The magical drama? Yes, yes, and yes. Pure comfort viewing. -
10 Things I Hate About You
The enemies-to-lovers blueprint. Heath Ledger as a charming rebel, Julia Stiles as a headstrong feminist, and one of the best musical serenades on school bleachers ever. An absolute classic. -
When Harry Met Sally
The ultimate "right person, wrong time" love story. It spans years, friendships, heartbreaks, and one of the best autumn montages in film history. Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal's chemistry? Chef’s kiss. -
Me Before You
Get the tissues ready. This movie blends romance, heartbreak, and self-discovery in a way that will have you sobbing into your hot chocolate—but in the best way. -
Love, Rosie
To the best friends who just miss each other at every turn. Years of “almost” and “what ifs” make this a bittersweet but beautiful journey through love, life, and missed chances. -
50 First Dates
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore make magic in this sweet, quirky rom-com about finding love again and again. It’s funny, touching, and just the right amount of weird. -
Love Actually
Yes, technically it’s a Christmas movie. But honestly? Love is love all year round. Multiple storylines, unforgettable quotes, and a young Keira Knightley in a wedding hat—what more do you need? -
The Life List
A hidden gem. If you’ve experienced loss—especially the loss of a parent—this movie explores grief, love, and healing in a beautifully tender way. Quiet, emotional, and deeply moving. -
Your Place or Mine
Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher trade lives, coastlines, and maybe more than just homes in this cozy, adult-ish rom-com about finding love and rediscovering priorities. Perfect for a casual fall night in.
Here’s to warm drinks, cozy socks, and the kind of movies that make you laugh, cry, and swoon.
Always stay warped and twisted as ever,
Eve
