Hello 2025

Hello 2025,
Another year, another set of resolutions. Every year, I watch as thousands of people make bold declarations about their plans for the new year, filled with promises of transformation. And yet, come December, many of us are left staring at that long list of goals, feeling like we didn’t quite measure up. We didn’t hit the marks we set for ourselves, and there's this familiar frustration bubbling up. Why do we expect a simple change of the calendar to completely revolutionize our lives? Can we really turn things around just because we crossed into a new year?
For me, the start of a new year often brings a sense of anxiety—this nagging voice reminding me of everything I didn’t do in the year before. Did I drink enough water? Did I work out like I said I would? Did I stick to all those health routines? My brain gets stuck on these "failures" and misses the big picture: the things I did accomplish. So this year, I decided to pause and actually look back—not with frustration, but with celebration.
In 2024, Sara and I hit over 1000 downloads on our podcast! That number felt like an impossible dream at the beginning of the year. We thought, "If we hit 500, we'd be ecstatic." So reaching over 1000 was mind-blowing. I can't wait to see where we can go in 2025. I feel like this is just the beginning of something huge.
We also finally started this blog—something Sara and I have wanted to do for years, but we always hesitated. The timing never felt "right," the ideas never felt "perfect." But in 2024, we said, "Screw it, let’s just do it!" And so we did. I’ve learned so much already, including new vocabulary (I know, I’m a word nerd, but it’s exciting!), and I can’t wait to keep writing in 2025.
Oh, and remember how I always dreamed of writing a book but never made the time for it? Well, in 2024, I started writing it. High school Eve would be proud of me! I’m still deep in the weeds of it, but I’m determined that by the end of 2025, I’ll finish it and share it with you all. Yes, you—because I really want you to read it.
And let’s not forget the podcast grind! Sara and I recorded 47 episodes last year, which means we missed only 5 weeks. That's consistency, right? Each episode was a step forward, a chance to improve, connect with new listeners, and just have fun along the way. And trust me, we have some big plans for 2025—things that will take the podcast to the next level.
So, while the start of a new year might bring pressure to “do more” or “be more,” I’m here to remind you to also take a step back and look at what you’ve already done. What were your victories, your small wins, your quiet accomplishments in 2024? Because those matter just as much as the big, flashy goals.
Let’s stop waiting for the perfect moment, the magic switch that will make everything fall into place. Let’s keep going, keep growing, and keep surprising ourselves.
And as always, stay as warped and twisted as ever. It’s way more fun that way.
Write soon,
Eve
