Low Budget Customizations

Low Budget Customizations

Hey friends!

You know that feeling when the seasons change and you get that itch to refresh everything around you? For me, it happens sometimes monthly but definitely seasonally. It’s like I can’t help it—I just need to switch things up and make my space feel new again. But here’s the thing: I’m not one for big impulse buys. No way! Instead, I’ve become a master at customizing the things I already own. It’s budget-friendly, sustainable, and super fun! So, here’s a little peek at how I’ve turned some everyday items into fresh, personalized pieces.

Laptop & Phone:

When I got my first MacBook back in college, I remember searching high and low for the perfect case. I mean, I wanted something that screamed "me" and really matched my vibe, but, surprise surprise, nothing quite hit the mark. So, I went for a clear case and loaded it up with stickers. Instant transformation! It’s the best of both worlds—something new without the hassle of buying a new case every time I’m feeling a change. Bonus tip: I never actually stick the stickers down permanently. Nope, I keep them on a piece of parchment so I can swap them out whenever the mood strikes. It’s like a sticker library that I can keep reusing! (Sustainable AND fun—score!)

Wallpapers:

I’ve gotten into the habit of making a vision board every year. But here’s the twist: I turn it into a wallpaper for my computer. So every time I open my laptop, I’m instantly reminded of my goals and dreams—pretty cool, right? And if I ever get the urge to change things up (hello, seasonal mood swings!), I’ll either make a new one or browse through the millions of wallpapers others have created. Plus, I’m obsessed with seasonal color changes, so I can swap my wallpaper as often as I want without any guilt.

Nightstand:

Okay, this is a little hack that has truly transformed my bedroom. A few years ago, I bought this nightstand from JYSK (probably 4 or 5 years ago, to be exact), and I’ve loved it ever since. But after a while, I started to miss the little decor changes. So, I bought a pack of cute wall stickers—hello, $3-5 investment—and slapped them on my nightstand. Instant refresh! It’s a super simple and affordable way to switch up the vibe, and now I’ve got a little collection of stickers for every season. It’s like giving my furniture a mini makeover every few months without breaking the bank!

Bedroom Wall Art:

If I’m being honest, I can’t go too long without feeling the urge to switch up my bedroom’s wall art. And trust me, buying new art every time would quickly get expensive—each piece could be over $20! So, I came up with a solution: I grabbed six frames from the dollar store and now, every season, I make a point to sit down and do a little watercoloring. Not only does this give me a creative outlet, but it’s so satisfying to see my own art hanging on the walls. It’s the perfect balance of personal expression and seasonal change, and it’s way more budget-friendly than splurging on fancy prints!

There you have it—some of my favorite little tricks for making old things feel fresh and exciting again without breaking the bank. What about you? Do you love giving your space a seasonal refresh, too? I'd love to hear what little hacks you’ve come up with!

Happy customizing!

Oh and stay warped and twisted as ever,

Eve
